Beach Clubs, designer style

Ever since Club Nikki took to the coastline of the Riviera with their Beach Clubs hailed as “the sexiest place on earth”, the combination of sun, pool, beach views, cocktails, dining and glamour have proven a heady and hedonistic mix.

With this successful formula, Club Nikki has spread of the Balearic Islands in Spain, Greece, Thailand and the Middle East, with various hotels and resorts, restaurants, beach clubs and pop-ups, including Cannes and Porto Cervo in the height of the summer season.

From St Tropez to the Caribbean, designer Beach Clubs are becoming de rigueur at beaches, lakes and riverfronts in the coolest locations.

Dior has ‘diorified’ the elegant Ember Beach Club of the One&Only Desaru Coast in Malaysia, and at the Surin Phuket hotel in Thailand. Indulgences include pink and white striped cabanas, mouthwatering Mediterranean-inspired menu table tennis and mahjong, life-sized animal sculptures and a sensational Dior-branded pool for a designer dip.

In St Trop, Loro Piana has collaborated with La Réserve à la Plage beach club, while Fendi has taken over the Puente Romano Beach Resort in Marbella.

Fans of The White Lotus 2 will be thrilled to learn Dolce & Gabbana have joined forces with the San Domenico Palace in Taormina, a Four Seasons Hotel, in an opulent poolside palazzo in the brand’s signature prints and serving granita and delectable, instagramable snacks.

This is just one of four of D&G’s perfectly positioned pop-ups in the Med. The others include Capri, Marbella and St Tropez.

For the Capri pop-up, the historical Grand Hotel Quisisana and its resort will be decked out in Blu Mediterraneo. Situated amongst orange groves with jaw dropping views of the Faraglioni rocks and Marina Piccola – the ideal backdrop for D&G’s iconic pieces.

Until October at St Tropez, devotees of French brand Jacquemus can sunbathe and socialise at its beach club at Indie Beach in St Tropez. Sunshine-yellow stripes set the tone and are ubiquitous on surfboards, umbrellas and lounges, and if you wish to dress the part, the boutique on-site is fully stocked with the Jacquemus Été (Summer) collection.

Then there’s Gucci in Pampelonne, Valentino on the Amalfi Coast in Ravello, and Louis Vuitton in Bodrum at the Mandarin Oriental, for something completely different!

As the southern hemisphere moves into summer, the unique Hotel Clicquot invites guests to savour the Veuve Clicquot ‘solaire’ lifestyle on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland Australia.

A sumptuous Noosa beachfront home has been converted into a palatial hotel that boasts an infinity pool with sweeping ocean views as well as five private guest suites, a cinema, day spa, bar and private access to the beach. Rooms are available for two and three night stays filled with Clicquot-inspired activities and unforgettable experiences, including Private Chefs, champagne at sunset and cruising the coastline.

Welcoming stylish guests all year round is the glamorous floating beach club La Luna, set on the shores of the dazzling Gold Coast Broadwater at Marina Mirage. For poolside dining, cabanas and day beds, Mare restaurant offers a chic social space with views over the marina, while up above it all is La Luna Restaurant for the 5-star fine dining experience.
