TORRENS LUXURY COLLECTION is proud to present to the Australian market the 86′ Nordhavn “PIRATE RADIO”.
Taking advantage of the enormous volume of its hull, the Nordhavn 86 offers remarkable accommodations. The saloon and galley span 36 feet in length, while the master cabin and head occupy the full width of the aft/upper section of the vessel, along with the combination of the wheelhouse. Additionally, the vessel includes four guest staterooms with ensuite heads, a master stateroom, crew quarters, a laundry room, and a utility room. The luxurious and functional interior features fine hardwoods, beautiful moldings, raised panels, stone floors, granite countertops, high-quality hardware, lighting, and fixtures.
The construction of the 86 follows conventional fiberglass methods and employs beautifully constructed female molds for the entire hull and deck. The flagship Nordhavn 86 received a complete AlexSeal paint job in 2014. It is designed and built to meet the latest international standards, with the option of being built to ABS certification, with +A1 Yachting Service rating for the hull and AMS rating for machinery and installation.
Equipped with twin MTU Series 60 engines, each rated at 600 hp and driving 48-inch propellers through 3.43 to 1 reduction gears, the Nordhavn 86 can achieve a transatlantic cruising speed of 12 knots. The vessel carries over 7,000 gallons of fuel, enabling a range of approximately 4,000 miles at a throttled-back speed of 10 knots. The twin configuration features integral skegs, two large attached rudders for enhanced directional control, and propellers that are protected within their own apertures.
The advanced high-pressure, common rail, electronically injected engines are equipped with wet exhaust systems and commercial-rated transmissions with large reduction gears. They offer unparalleled efficiency and reliability. The extensive list of standard machinery includes a central hydraulics system with 20-square-foot stabilizers, 50 hp bow and stern thrusters, hydraulic bilge pumping and anchor washdowns, high-output hydraulic alternators, an 8 kW inverter system, dual Northern Light 33 kW generators, a universal AC electrical system for worldwide use, a 3,500 lb. Marquipt davit, a chilled water air-conditioning system, and an automatic engine room/lazarette fire system with ventilation dampeners.
